Fiction Christmas Ornaments

Fiction Christmas Ornaments

My husband and I put up our Christmas tree last Sunday. While I was hanging the ornaments on the branches, I couldn’t help but notice how many of them were related to something fictional, be it a book, show, or movie. I’d like to share pictures of these ornaments with you and tell you the story behind each one.

My dad gave us this Thor ornament. Its meaning is twofold. First, I like the character, Thor, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Second, our last name is Thor.

I got this Hogwarts Coat of Arms ornament when my parents and I went to Harry Potter World at the Universal theme park. We had an amazing time there. I chose this ornament because it includes all the houses, although personally I consider myself a Ravenpuff.

When I was little, I loved Beatrix Potter’s characters, especially Peter Rabbit and Tom Kitten. I have yet to find a Tom Kitten ornament, but Peter goes on my tree every year to remind me of those sweet stories.

My husband introduced me to the anime, One Piece, a few years ago, and it is now one of my favorite shows of all time. This Straw hat ornament looks just like Luffy’s hat, and it includes the Jolly Roger of the Straw Hat pirates. I bought this ornament because I like the show and as a reminder to keep pursuing my dreams, just like Luffy and his crew.

Technically, these two little ladies are not from anything fictional, but years ago, my mom and I saw them in a store and decided they look like Anne and Diana from Anne of Green Gables. I always hang them next to each other on the tree, so these two “kindred spirits” can be together for Christmas.

My husband proposed to me the day before The Force Awakens came out in theaters. We went and saw it that weekend, and I bought this ornament to commemorate that very special week.

Growing up, The Little Mermaid was my favorite Disney movie. My childhood best friend knew that, so she gave me this ornament as a Christmas present one year. It was the first ornament that I truly considered mine, and I have hung it on my tree every year since she gave it to me.

Captain America is my favorite character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of my best friends gave me this ornament because she knows how much I like him. I think of her every year when I hang it on the tree.

At our wedding, my husband’s groom’s cake was made to look like Jango Fett’s helmet. I bought this Jango Fett ornament as a reminder of that and because we both love Star Wars.

Those are all of the fiction Christmas ornaments on our tree. As a bonus, I’d also like to share this picture of Amy and Jake under the tree because they are just too cute!
